INDIANAPOLIS -- We caught up with KV Racing's Eric Cowdinthe other day to talk about the importance of the electronics and engineeringwhen it comes to getting a top finish at the Indy 500 race.
KV Racing, which scored a third place finish with Tony Kanaanon Sunday (May 27) at the Indy 500, is supported by both Mouser and Littlefuse.
Cowdin said his team "relies very heavily" on itspartners, Chevy and Ilmor engineering for most of the engine work, but alsodoes its own gearbox and clutch tuning to the driver's specifications.
"But we all work as a team to try to get the best out of thedriver and out of the car," he said.
This year, KV Racing showed up to the track with a brand newcar, which meant the team had to thoroughly test its vehicles in a wind tunnelbefore the Indy 500, which had also changed the specs about two months prior tothe race.
