Next generation LabVIEW design software released

According to NI cofounder Jeff Kodosky: “For a long time, we focused on making additional things possible with LabVIEW, rather than furthering the goal of helping engineers automate measurements quickly and easily. Now, we are squarely addressing this with the introduction of LabVIEW NXG. Common applications can use a simple configuration-based approach, while more complex applications can use the full open-ended graphical programming capability of the LabVIEW language, G.”

LabVIEW NXG 1.0 helps engineers to increase the speed at which benchtop data can be acquired, as well as to iteratively analyse measurement data.

According to NI, non-programming workflows simplify automation by building code behind the scenes. ‘Engineers can now drag and drop a section of code equivalent to 50 lines of text-based code’, it notes.

While NI also introduced an updated version of LabVIEW, its long term goal is to move developers to LabVIEW NXG, reuniting the two platforms.
