Compound Semi Institute gets £13m from Europe

According to Mark Drakeford, finance secretary in the Welsh Assembly: “Investing in world leading facilities so that academia and industry can collaborate and drive forward research in this sector will be an important boost to the Welsh economy.”

The Institute was established in 2015 by Cardiff University in association with IQE. Dr Drew Nelson, IQE’s CEO, added: “The role of compound semiconductors as an enabling technology for a wide range of next generation applications – from high-speed communications to autonomous vehicles – is acknowledged worldwide.
