Leeds, England -- Premier Farnell's element14 collaborativecommunity and electronics store has teamed with CadSoft Computer GmbH tosponsor the EAGLE Design Competition over the next four months through the endof August.
Electronic design engineers and enthusiasts will need tosubmit their innovative design projects to win prizes with a pot value of$7000. The competition, which is powered by Microchip and hosted on theelement14 Community, aims to bring the most innovative design engineering communitiestogether using CadSoft EAGLE's Version 6.
To enter the competition applicants must ensure that alldesigns use EAGLE Version 6 and that a Microchip MCU or DSC is integrated inthe design. After registering on the element14 Community, users can submit ascreenshot of their layout and add a description of their project on thecompetition page.
Users who do not have an EAGLE license can download a free30-days trial version hereto participate in the contest. Prizes will be awarded to the most creativeidea, and include a Dell Alienware computer, a Microchip Eval kit, and afully-loaded version of CadSoft EAGLE.
The outcome of the competition will be judged by means ofpeer-voting from the element14 community. Members of the leading globaltechnology community can "like" entries and comment on the submission. Based onthe community "likes" and comments, a judging panel consisting of CadSoft,Premier Farnell, and Microchip representatives along with independent EAGLEexpert Prof. Dr. Francesco Volpe from the University of Applied Sciences inAschaffenburg will pick the winners.
