The UBM Electronics ACE (Annual Creativity in Electronics) Awards combine
EDN's Innovation Awards and
EE Times' ACE Awards and are among the few chances for us to honor the best of the best individuals, teams, teachers, mentors, innovators, products, technology, and creativity that propel our industry forward.
Along with the usual awards, devoted to products, design teams, start-ups, companies, executives, and lifetime achievement, we have added a few more categories over the past several years, including Student of the Year, and, for 2011, we've added Mentor of the Year and Contributor of the Year as special recognition for those engineers or teachers who exemplify the best of what it means to be a true participant in and contributor to the engineering profession.
The inaugural Contributor of the Year Award goes, posthumously, to long-time
EDN contributing writer and industry guru Jim Williams, after whom we have named the award. We hope you can join us in celebrating this year's winners. Congratulations to all.
