Called CellPac BLOX, the service allows companies to configure a battery pack which closely matches the electrical and mechanical requirements of their application and to implement it quickly in their end product.
A range of lithium-ion cells, protection circuit modules (PCMs) and connectors is available, allowing battery packs to be specified with capacities ranging from 150mAh to 7800mAh.
According to the company, it has tested and validated more than 50 combinations of cells -- cylindrical, prismatic and polymer – and PCMs to guarantee safety, adding that almost any standard wire/connector assembly can be added to create a semi custom lithium-ion soft pack.
Samples of the user’s chosen battery pack configuration will be available within three weeks of receipt of the customer specification. If the configuration moves to mass production, lead times are expected to be between 12 and 16 weeks.
All cells carry UL 1642 recognition and all packs are tested for transportation according to the UN 38.3 standard. Additional options are available, including IEC 62133 certification or the use of non-standard connectors.
