e2v named global supplier to aero/defence sector by GaN Systems

According to the partners, e2v will use its infrastructure and experience in to support the high reliability market with GaN’s transistors and evaluation boards. It will also offer power management solutions that respond directly to size, weight and power (SWaP) constraints.

Mont Taylor, e2v’s vice president of business development, noted: “Our aerospace and defence customers must increase system power density, while reducing size and weight. This global partnership with GaN Systems allows us to extend our portfolio and offer new power technologies to meet these requirements.”

Larry Spaziani, vice president of sales and marketing for GaN Systems, added: “Power designers are routinely reducing the volume and weight of their systems by up to six times by using GaN transistors as a replacement for silicon devices. e2v’s heritage within the A&D market will allow us to extend the availability of our SWaP conscious power solutions.”
