The centre will focus on IP for artificial intelligence (AI) and computer vision, with the team initially focusing on software and test activities. Future areas for exploration will include system architecture and design.
The new team is headed up by Horea Pop, General Manager Romania and Director of AI Software Engineering, with an initial team of 20 skilled engineers.

Located in the western part of Romania, Timisoara is the second largest city in Romania and an important economic hub. The city has an academic community that is highly specialised in computer science and research.
The new site will complement the capabilities of Imagination’s existing engineering teams located around the world in the UK, Australia, India, Poland and Sweden. Imagination currently employs over 870 people globally.
