Silicon Motion Technology, a developer of NAND flash controllers and solid-state storage devices, introduced the FerriSSD, a single-chip SSD that features a PCIe Gen 3 NVMe 1.3 interface for high-performance mission critical applications.
The SM689 supports PCIe Gen 3x4 interface while the SM681 supports PCI Gen 3x2 interface - exhibiting sequential read speed of up to 1.45GB/s and sequential write speed of up to 650MB/s. Both products have been designed to support multiple capacity configurations ranging from 16GB to 256GB and include enterprise-grade advanced data integrity and reliability capabilities using Silicon Motion’s proprietary end-to-end data protection, ECC and data caching technologies.

NXP Semiconductors introduced a new Rapid IoT prototyping kit. The power-optimised prototyping solution is intended to be both secure and extremely easy to use.
NXP said that it wanted to simplify the development of Proof-of-Concept (PoC) IoT edge nodes for consumer, commercial and industrial markets.
Rapid IoT combines optimised hardware design and trusted security with pre-programmed applications that help get users up and running within minutes of opening the box. It provides drag-and-drop style GUI-based programming from Atmosphere IoT allowing innovators to create their applications even without embedded coding experience.
Rapid IoT has been designed to ease the transition from prototype to development with certified wireless stacks, drivers, middleware, embedded application examples and iOS/Android mobile apps.

Rigado announced that it’s deploying Canonical’s Ubuntu Core operating system on its Vesta IoT gateways in a move to ease implementation of secure edge computing and cloud connectivity applications in commercial environments.
Rigado has developed a family of commercial IoT gateways which provide an off-the-shelf, scalable means to connect sensors and objects such as asset tags, smart lights and building controls to cloud applications and platforms, as well as to run control and monitoring applications locally.
Its Vesta gateways provide: short-range wireless connections via Bluetooth Low Energy and 802.15.4 radios to sensors, actuators and devices such as smartphones; built-in interfaces to popular cloud services, connecting to the internet via Ethernet or cellular telephone networks and a powerful Arm Cortex-A7-based edge computing system to run local sensing, monitoring and control applications in a Linux operating environment.

Nexperia, the former Standard Products division of NXP, used Embedded World to unveil a wide range of PN and Trench Schottky rectifiers for power applications including automotive, industrial and consumer.
New devices available included: the VF/IR optimised 40 V/45 V and 60 V Trench Schottky rectifiers in CFP3/5/15 packaging and fast recovery, low reverse current PN rectifiers in CFP3 and CFP5 packaging.
