PORTLAND, Ore.—Altierre Corp. Wednesday (July 18) debuted a new e-paper for signage applications, offering customers the opportunity to take advantage of wireless updates using Altierre's E-Paper digital display technology for shelf labels, price tags and other commercial signage.
Based on a proprietary electrophoretic technology, Altierre's E-Paper can handle bit-mapped graphics as well as text in a variety of colors. The company claims to have over 1,000 stores already using its wireless infrastructure for LCD displays, which will also be compatible with its new higher-end E-Paper based signage technology.
Altierre's wireless infrastructure can merely keep signage updated with the latest information, or can provide auto-sequenced multi-screens on a single sign to provide in-store messaging capabilities linked to web or in-store marketing campaigns. Sensors on the signage can also notify retailers when an on-shelf item is sold out.
Altierre’s E-Paper digital display family of products uses electrophoretic technology, in a range of colors and sizes.
