electronica - engineers to ‘change the world’ in design competition

Ralf Buehler, chief sales and marketing officer, explains: “This competition gives engineers, students and makers the opportunity to showcase their creative ideas. We are excited about the opportunity to help some of these ideas become successful projects.”

The competition is open to all and no purchase is needed to enter. Entrants download their bill of materials and write a short description of how they would use the products to change the world.

“The 10 finalists will be announced at Embedded World,” says Steve Carr, global head of marketing. “They will then receive support to build the solution.”

The competition will be judged by experts from Farnell element14, with the 10 finalists receiving their chosen products to the value of $1000 as well as access to an engineering team at Farnell element14 to explore the options for taking the design to production.

Entrants can choose products from the company’s range of semiconductor interconnect and passive products, as well as development boards, single board computers, test equipment, tools and supplies for maintenance operations.
