 microchip introduced MXT2912TD-UW

Microchip Technology Inc. introduced the maXTouch® MXT2912TD-UW touch screen controller to simplify system development for ultra-wide screens commonly used in electric vehicles (EV), advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and high-end cars. This is the industry's first automotive-certified single-chip solution that supports a maximum 45-inch display and extremely wide aspect ratio, as well as liquid crystal display (LCD) and organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display technologies.

This single-chip touch screen controller can better meet the requirements of safety, intuitiveness and ease-of-use of in-vehicle user interfaces. MXT2912TD-UW has the inherent excellent signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) characteristics of the maXTouch series. Even in wet conditions, it can detect and track the touch of multi-finger thick gloves through various covering materials and thicknesses. Not only can it provide the highest report rate for a wide display, it is also not affected by the resolution of the display, which greatly improves the user experience.

In addition, it contains a variety of safety-related functions and complies with the ISO 26262 functional safety standards for road vehicles. Including regular self-checks, touch sensor tests, internal flash and RAM tests, full-signal data path integrity checks, and additional microprocessor (MPU) core tests.

In order to support this touch screen controller, Microchip also provides some supporting devices for you to choose, such as low dropout voltage regulator (LDO) and 8, 16, 32-bit microcontroller (MCU), controller area network (CAN) and CAN physical layer ( PHY) controller, etc.
