aiWARE is an operating system for AI that integrates cognitive engines, which can be orchestrated together to reveal actionable insights from multimedia sources such as radio and TV broadcasts, and surveillance footage, with ‘unprecedented’ accuracy.
BrainChip is developing the integration with aiWARE as a member of the Veritone Developer program. Members are able to integrate their own cognitive engines or build complete applications on top of Veritone’s open and extensible SaaS-based platform. Upon completion of the BrainChip Studio integration with aiWARE, customers will be able to access its AI-powered object recognition and facial classification capabilities.
BrainChip Studio uses an AI technology called a spiking neural network, a type of neuromorphic computing that simulates the functionality of the human visual tract. Unique to BrainChip’s spiking neural network is the ability to be instantaneously trained with a single image – called “one-shot” training – enabling users to rapidly search vast amounts of video footage for objects or faces.
“BrainChip’s one-shot training for object search and facial classification provides a capability not found in the other cognitive engines in the aiWARE portfolio,” said Mike Morper, VP Product Marketing at Veritone. “We anticipate this capability will be vital for many of our SaaS and on-premise customers in the media, government, and law enforcement markets.”

BrainChip Studio on aiWARE is currently available to early access customers, with full production release anticipated by the end of Q2 2018.
